About the service

Doctor Calling connects patients with independent registered medical practitioners for consultations over video. Doctors are responsible for the medical advice they give.

Not for emergencies

Do not use the service for medical emergencies. Call your local emergency number or go to the nearest hospital.

Your account

Provide accurate information, keep your password private and tell us about any unauthorised use. You must be 18 or older, or use the service with a parent or guardian.

Appointments, fees and cancellations

Fees are shown before booking and are currently paid directly to the doctor or clinic. Patients may cancel or reschedule up to 2 hours before the start time. Doctors may cancel when necessary; you will be notified.

Teleconsultation

By booking a video consultation you consent to being examined and advised over video and chat. At the start the doctor confirms who you are and your age; a child must consult with a parent or guardian present.

The doctor may decide that you need to be seen in person or tested, and may then not prescribe. Under the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, medicines in Schedule X and narcotic or psychotropic medicines cannot be prescribed in a video consultation.

Prescriptions

Prescriptions are issued at the sole discretion of the treating doctor. A prescription that is corrected after it was issued is reissued as a new version with the reason, and the earlier version is kept.

Acceptable use

Do not record consultations without consent, harass doctors or patients, or attempt to access data that is not yours.

Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect damages arising from its use.
